DIGICEL, LAQTEL AND TSTT SIGN CONCESSIONS

NEWS RELEASE

December 30th 2005

Representatives of Digicel Trinidad and Tobago Limited, Laqtel Limited and Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago  (TSTT), today, (Friday December 30th) signed concessions and associated licences. The concessions will authorize these companies to provide public mobile telecommunications services and public international telecommunications network and services in Trinidad and Tobago for a period of ten years in accordance with Parts III and IV of the Telecommunications Act 2001.

The documents have been forwarded to the Ministry of Public Administration and Information for signature by the Minister, Dr. Lenny Saith.

Signing on behalf of Digicel was Mr. Stephen Brewer while Mr. Michael Barrow signed on behalf of  Laqtel and Mr. Bernard Mitchell on behalf of TSTT.
 
The signing took place at the offices of the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, #76 Boundary Road San Juan at approximately 8:20pm.

The signing was witnessed by the following officials of the Authority, Dr John Prince, Executive Director; Mr. Cris Seecharan, Deputy Director; Mr. Stephen Bereaux, Legal Advisor and Corporate Secretary; Mr. Karel Douglas, Licensing Specialist, Ms. Nalini Mahadeo, Wireless Engineer; Ms. Michelle Grell, Senior Policy Pricing and Research Analyst and Mr. Kirk Sookram, Resource, Planning and Management Engineer.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Information was represented by Mr. Rudyard Davidson, Head of Legal Services
